    What is Sunshine

    Sunshine Learning Difficulties Center (SLDC) is the first special education consultancy in the United Arab Emirates. Based in Dubai, SLDC is licensed under the Community Development Authority (CDA) and Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA). SLDC services People of Determination (those with disabilities); Gifted and Talented; and individuals with a variety of support service needs. SLDC has been servicing the community since 2017 with expert staff.

We make it possible for your student with a learning difficulty to get access to proper school programs that ensure independent growth in learning.

    Our vision is to provide exceptional special educational programs for the child with special needs that reflects the best international standards and practices to prepare them to be productive member of the society.

    Mission

    At Sunshine we will use all available resources to plan, implement, and monitor the provision of special education programs for the child with special need to ensure that they received an Individual Education Program (IEP) based on their strength and needs to enhance their social competence and enable them to maximize their contributions to their communities.

    CDA Licensed Professionals

    Marcheta G. Hightower, M.Ed., is from the USA, a Special Educator, and has over 25 years teaching and community experience for people with special education needs. She is licensed with Community Development Authority (CDA) as a Social Care Professional in special education. She also has developed professional educator courses for inclusion licensed under KHDA. She is a delegate of the Division of International Special Education Services (DISES).

    Dr. Annita Sani is a licensed Clinical Psychologist with over 3 decades of combined work experience in the USA and the UAE. She specializes in providing assessment and intervention services for children and youth experiencing learning, emotional, social and behavioral difficulties in school and community settings.
